How this tool works

This uses your browser's built-in time zone database (the same one that powers accurate clocks and calendars across the web) to work out the real offset between two time zones on today's date, correctly accounting for daylight saving time. No external time zone library is needed.

Why is my EPG showing the wrong time in the first place?

EPG data is generated by a source server set to a specific time zone, and if your app doesn't correctly convert that to your device's local time zone, everything shows shifted by a fixed number of hours.

How do I actually fix it, not just understand it?

First check your device's own date, time and time zone settings are correct, that alone fixes a lot of cases. If the guide is still off by a consistent amount, look for a time zone or UTC offset setting inside the IPTV app itself.

Why is the offset sometimes an hour different at certain times of year?

Daylight saving time. If your EPG source and your own time zone don't observe daylight saving on the same dates (or one observes it and the other doesn't), the correct offset between them shifts by an hour for part of the year.
